Christmas, Mangoes and Rain!

Toni Bourne - Wednesday, December 18, 2013

BroomeTown B&B has celebrated 8 years in business this year, as usual it has been a busy year with many guests from all over the world staying with us and sharing their travel stories, one thing I have discovered is that travel makes everyone a storyteller and we love hearing all about your adventures and especially grateful when guests share their experience online with Trip Advisor. Our rating is currently 5 stars and we’ve had 73 amazing reviews; below is a snippet of what others are saying about their stay at BroomeTown B&B.

‘Perfect for those who are not seeking a large resort’

It is the biggest compliment to read a great review, our job is made so much easier hosting happy guests and sharing our little piece of paradise makes us happy too.

With the wet-season approaching now is the time for us to unwind and have a few days off. We typically enjoy the steamy build up and afternoon storms, the rain stirs up the frogs, beautiful big fat green frogs. The chorus is unbelievably loud some nights and daylight brings evidence, in the way of tadpole eggs in the pool and ponds, that we definitely have a healthy frog population at BroomeTown. The glorious sunsets are a photographer’s dream and the waft of ripe mangoes seems to follow you everywhere you go.  Frangipani and Poinciana trees are in beautiful bloom throughout Chinatown in perfect timing for Christmas. If you have ever visited Broome in the dry season (April-October) consider revisiting in the wet at staying at our luxurious bed & breakfast, you will be pleasantly surprised!

BroomeTown News

The Kimberley has recently received some amazing exposure with Lonely Planet awarding the Kimberley as one of the, top 10 travel regions for 2014. This is no surprise to anyone who has visited this region. And recently Trip Advisor's Travellers Choice named Broome as a top 10 destination on the rise.  Our bookings for next year certainly reflect a renewed interest in Broome and the Kimberley and we are looking forward to welcoming many visitors to BroomeTown B&B.

2014 will see us expand our micro business and open up a 4th guest room.  ‘Dampier’ is a very private free standing room tastefully decorated and spacious in size.  ‘Dampier’ is available to book from the 1st April.   Richard will be picking up the tools once again and busily working on this project after Christmas, if you would like to watch the progress go to our Facebook page and ‘like’ us, photos will be updated regularly.

Christmas for our family in Broome is a low key but happy occasion, we typically spend the day in the kitchen or in the pool and love the fact that most of our friends are in walking distance so dropping in for a quick drink is stress free and doesn’t involve traffic or a car!

However you choose to spend Christmas Day, we hope it is full of love and laughter and that 2014 brings you everything you wish for!
